However, after further discussion, Chairman Fowler <br />summarized the opinion of the group by stating the Chamber tax committee will <br />recommend to the San Leandro city council that it adopt the necessary resolution <br />to file with LAFCO to initiate hearings proposing that San Leandro be separated <br />from the Eden Township Hospital District. <br />Chairman Fowler said the Chamber will also voice its disapproval of the way the <br />hospital has approached the problem, and express the point of view that we believe <br />the hospital directors failed to provide the public with adequate opportunity to <br />review tl-e financing method chosen or to discuss possible alternates to raising <br />the $4. 7 million, providing there was general approval that the proposed expansion <br />is necessary. <br />Chairman Fowler said all homeowner associations will be advised of the action <br />and requested to support the city council if it takes the necessary action as <br />recommended. <br />6. Discussion was held on directors' election procedures, and it was reported two <br />directors are up for election this fall; directors are elected at -large. <br />7.
