� y.g <br />Report of the <br />E FCU IVE OFFICER <br />to the <br />LOCAL AGENCY FOMIATION COKMISSION OF ALAMEDA COUNTY <br />ON <br />"SAN LEANDRO Il1'7IiSTRIAL DISTRICT UNIT NO. 87 - Doolittle Properti�:s Arnex" <br />Annexation to the City of San Leandro <br />BACKGROUM DATA ON PROPOSAL <br />This is a propel to annex an area of about 4.6 acres to the City of San <br />Leandro under the provisions of the Uninhabited Territory Act. The area <br />is on Doolittle Drive and is currently used for industrial purposes, and <br />taere are no residences, nor any plans for residential use of the property. <br />The area of the proposal, together with an additional parcel not included <br />i,a _'Ae proposal, constitute an unincorporated island that is entirely sure - <br />rounded by the City of San Leandro. <br />The proposal is within the City of San Leandro. Population of the city is <br />projected by the following unofficial estimates supplied by the Alameda County <br />Planning Department. <br />Year <br />Population <br />4/1/1960 <br />65,962 <br />7/1/1963 <br />69,400 <br />1970 <br />72,500 <br />198o <br />73,000 <br />1990 <br />82,000 <br />2000 <br />87,600 <br />The City of San Leandro is the proponent for the proposal on behalf of six <br />owners of all the property proposed to be annexed. <br />EXISTING GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES <br />T'ae area of the proposal is currently within the South County Junior College <br />District and the San Leandro Unified School District. Eight special districts <br />have jurisdiction. in the area, except that a small strip of land 30 feet in <br />width by about 220 feet in length is not Tkithin t..: East Bay 1�unicipal Utility <br />District (Assessor's Code Are 79-004), and is part of a much larger parcel -ex- <br />cluded from this proposal that would remain as an unincorporated island sur- <br />rounded by the city. The area is within the County Library Service Area. <br />Table I lists the tax rates in the area for 1964-65. The combined tax rates <br />were :?7.97 p-r $100 assessed value in the major portion and $7.77 in the <br />strip alluded to above. <br />The assessed valuation for the 1964-65 roll of the proposal, exclusive of <br />the strip, was $20,450 for land and $77,600 for improve:-.-nts, or a total of <br />$98,050. <br />
