2 EXISTING CONDITIONS <br /> San Leandro Crosstown Corridors Study 2-6 <br />2.3 Phase 1 Community Outreach: <br />Listen and Learn <br />Pop-Up Workshops <br />Fehr & Peers, Bike East Bay, and Student Ambassadors collaborated with the <br />City of San Leandro to host pop-up workshops early in the study process to <br />gather feedback on existing conditions as well as needs and desires of <br />residents and stakeholders along the corridors. <br />Schedule and Venues <br />Pop-up locations: <br />• August 7, 2021: Farrelly Pool <br />• August 21, 2021: Bay Fair Market <br />• August 25, 2021: Downtown Market <br />Additionally, Student Ambassadors conducted outreach walks and <br />encouraged online responses throughout the month of August 2021. In total, <br />the workshops and outreach efforts heard input from 225 people in <br />the community. <br />Online Map and Survey <br />A project website on Social Pinpoint hosted up-to-date project information on <br />project goals, scope, existing conditions, streetscape designs, and house <br />community engagement updates, such as outcomes and feedback at meetings, <br />and forthcoming meetings and opportunities for engagement. <br />During Phase 1, an interactive web map allowed participants to drop pins on <br />the map to identify issues, ideas, and opportunities on each corridor as well as <br />the key destinations and issues that are important to access. The website also <br />included an “ideas wall” where respondents could share ideas without adding <br />pins on the map. Each respondent was prompted with a survey on their values, <br />priorities, relationship to the corridor, and basic demographic information. <br />They were also invited to submit their email address to stay updated on <br />the project. <br />Student Ambassador Program <br />Recruited in partnership with PilotCity and supervised by Bike East Bay, <br />Student Ambassadors joined the outreach team in Phases 1 and 2 to support <br />engagement during their summer internship.
