TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />500 IRRIGATION SYSTEMS AND WATER MANAGEMENT <br />(a)The Contractor shall be responsible for all minor maintenance of the irrigation system <br />including making minor repairs and adjustments to: <br />a.remote control valves <br />b.Piping <br />c.wiring <br />d.spray heads and pop ups <br />e.electric valves <br />f.Irrigation clocks <br />(b)The Contractor shall repair and maintain this irrigation system from lateral tees to sprinkler <br />heads including: replacement of damaged or malfunctioning heads, broken risers or other <br />related parts of the irrigations system above the connection to the lateral line. Replacement <br />of any item shall be with a new item of identical model, make and manufacturer unless <br />otherwise approved in writing by the City Representative. <br />(c)Irrigation systems should be operational to their fullest capacity using any smart <br />technology installed, and the expertise of the Contractor. <br />(d)It is the Contractor’s responsibility to identify the cause of the damage and notify the City <br />immediately if there is repair needed to the lateral line, mainline, valve, pump, electrical <br />trouble shooting. These are considered major repairs and will be considered additional <br />irrigation work. The City will provide advance approval on a time and materials basis at <br />the rates specified on the Pricing Sheet by the Contractor in the Agreement. <br />(e)Turf and landscaped areas shall be irrigated from acceptable performance, appearance and <br />optimum plant health. Overwatering resulting in excessive wet areas or under watering <br />resulting in excessive plant or turf damage is not acceptable. <br />(f)Consideration and priority for irrigation will be based on: plant and turf establishment <br />periods; established landscaping and turf; need for temporary irrigation schedules. <br />(g)Water is available from the City's automatic and manual irrigation systems at some of the <br />sites. Where no irrigation system exists, irrigation shall not be considered part of this <br />contract. The City shall pay for all water and electricity except for water usage in excess <br />of that needed to maintain the landscape as specified herein. Contractor shall pay for all <br />excessive water charges, as determined by the City, due to Contractor’s failure to <br />adequately monitor irrigation system malfunctions or unwarranted increases in the <br />frequency of irrigation. <br />(h)Valves shall be kept well-adjusted to ensure efficient operation of the irrigation system. <br />The Contractor shall also keep the controllers clean and free of insects and dust. <br />Exhibit A <br />Page 36 of 55 <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: DEF5307A-6F44-4C74-86C2-5E2B3E67B647
