<br /> <br />Non-Professional Services Agreement between <br />City of San Leandro and Silman Industries—Exhibit A Page 13 of 30 <br />a) It is the contractor’s responsibility for scheduling and coordinating the Work of subcontractors, suppliers, <br />and other individuals or entities performing or furnishing any of contractor’s Work <br />b) Contractor is responsible for quality control to ensure that the work complies with the contract documents, <br />and said duty shall not be voided by any act or omission on the part of the inspector(s). <br />c) Keep paint containers tightly covered and protected from weather when not in use. <br /> <br />d) Conduct work in favorable atmospheric conditions. Provide protective measures at no additional cost to <br />the City. <br /> <br />e) Dry Film thickness per SSPC-PA 2 <br /> <br />f) Do not apply paint to any surface with discernible moisture. <br />g) Do not apply paint to any surface when steel is above 5°F of the dewpoint or expected to occur within <br />painting work <br />h) Do not apply any paint when impending weather conditions might result in injury to fresh paint <br />Materials: <br /> <br />a) Ensure all coatings used are from the same manufacturer or where alternative is requested equivalent <br />formulation is required, submit a separate submittal. Submittal must show comparison. <br />b) Must be chlorine resistant <br />Installation: <br /> <br />Tape Test: Perform the tape test, per direction of inspector, on any surface before painting as follows: <br />a) Press a strip of filament tape onto the surface by rubbing with moderate thumb pressure 4 times, leaving <br />approximately 2 in. of one end of the tape free from the surface. <br />b) Grasp the free end and remove the tape from the surface with a sharp pull. The surface will be considered <br />to be contaminated and not adequately cleaned if visible particles cling to the tape. <br />c) Perform test every square yard. <br />Paint Condition: <br />a) Thoroughly mix and strain paints to be applied. <br />b) Mix shall only done by mechanical methods. Provide continuous mechanical agitation during painting <br />operations to prevent settling. <br />c) Ensure the paint is a completely homogeneous mixture free of lumps, skins, and agglomerates and <br />contains all pigments (where applicable), vehicle solids, and thinners required in the original formulation. <br />Thinning: <br />a) Adjust paint to the correct application consistency by using suitable thinners or by using properly applied <br />heat up to 150°F. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 23227C11-F678-4CF3-95AF-AD4B0DEB1E28
