EQUITY AND INCLUSION <br />The City of San Leandro conducts all emergency response actfvitfes in accordance with federal nondiscriminatfon <br />laws. The City of San Leandro’s policy is that no service will be denied based on race, religion, natfonal origin, <br />age, sex, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientatfon, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical <br />disability. The City of San Leandro works to ensure that all response operatfons, including evacuatfon, sheltering, <br />and alert and warning mechanisms comply with provisions of the Americans with Disabilitfes Act of 1990 (ADA) 3 <br />and other state regulatfons. The City of San Leandro is committed to ensuring the planning, development, and <br />review process incorporates engagement, consideratfons, and input from the access and functfonal needs <br />community, as outlined in regulatfons including: <br />• AB 2311 (Brown, Ch. 520, Stats. 2016)4 <br />• AB 477 (Cervantes, Ch. 218, Stats. 2019)5 <br />• SB 160 (Jackson, Ch. 402, Stats. 2019)6 <br />Individuals from diverse populatfons and those with access and functfonal needs are often disproportfonately <br />affected and may be more vulnerable to the impacts of disasters. Individuals with access and functfonal needs <br />and other at-risk groups may have specific concerns or requirements during incident response.
