3
San Leandro Baylands “North Marsh” Hydrology and Ecological Opportunities Assessment Proposal

Figure 1
Proposal Tide Gauges and Survey Cross-Sections

Two (2) tide gauges will be installed within North Marsh, one (1) tide gauge will be installed within
Robert’s Landing Slough, and one (1) tide gauge will be installed at the San Leandro Marina to provide
reference tidal water levels. Measurement of tide elevations will be recorded in 10-minute intervals
continuously during the monitoring period. Service visits will occur on an approximate six (6) week cycle
during the monitoring period. Quality control of the tide data will be completed at the time of
downloading and will include visual observation of the instrument to check for equipment degradation, an
open-air calibration reading, compensation for barometric pressure, and a redundant water surface
elevation measurement to check for potential instrument drift. Depth measurements recorded by the
gauges will be converted to feet (ft) North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) by surveying
water surface elevations directly at the time of measurement.
Docusign Envelope ID: 9DB32912-19D0-41E8-ACE8-82408BB907DB
