6
San Leandro Baylands “North Marsh” Hydrology and Ecological Opportunities Assessment Proposal

Assumptions
Up to two (2) on-site days with (2) staff to assess marshes within the San Leandro baylands.
Deliverables
A Vegetation Assessment and Recommendations section informed by the on-site habitat suitability
assessment will be written and delivered under Task 3.2 (Wetland Condition and Management
Recommendations Report).
Task 3: Wetland Condition and Opportunities Assessment
Task 3.1: Visioning Workshop
Description
ESA will facilitate a 1-hour webinar format meeting to discuss ideas and visioning for the San Leandro
baylands. This study provides an opportunity to position the marsh management efforts within a broader
planning context by synthesizing the feedback and input from organizations and community members
who have a demonstrated interest or research in the San Leandro Shoreline Marshlands. ESA will
coordinate with the City to invite project partners to participate in this workshop. Potential invitees
include: Invasive Spartina Project, Friends of San Lorenzo Creek, Alameda County Vector Control, East
Bay Dischargers Authority, Peter Baye, and Heidi Weiskel, among others. This task will provide an
opportunity for knowledge sharing and collaborative exchange of ideas during a one-hour workshop.
Assumptions
One-hour workshop. This meeting could be combined with a regularly scheduled project coordination
meeting as defined in Task 1.
Depending on the level of interest and availability of potential invitees, ESA and the City may elect to
invite written comments from interested participants in-liu of hosting an online meeting.
ESA recognizes that a 1-hour workshop is not likely to provide enough time to fully address all topics
of interest and to receive feedback from all parties, however this meeting is expected to provide some
valuable input and collaboration and will be valuable for establishing and/or maintaining relationships
with project partners.
– ESA will coordinate with the City to consider whether to extend the duration of the workshop (2-
3 hours) and/or to facilitate additional workshops. Additional budget would be needed to extend
the duration or add additional workshops.
Deliverables
Notes from this workshop will be presented as an attachment under Task 3.2 (Wetland Condition and
Management Recommendations Report) and incorporated into other sections of the report.

Task 3.2: Wetland Condition and Management Recommendations Report
Description
Informed by the data collection efforts and the preceding subtasks, under this task ESA will produce a
report that provides updates to the 2007 Marsh Manual and targeted recommendations for future marsh
Docusign Envelope ID: 9DB32912-19D0-41E8-ACE8-82408BB907DB
