Hollister City Manager RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT TO GALEDRIGE CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE 1550 EAST 14TH STREET AND 262 DAMS STREET TEMPORARY PARKING LOTS, PROJECT NO. 09-962-86-070 AND 09-961-83-077. SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION The work will include: grading; paving; striping; and lighting as required to provide approximately 235 parking spaces at 1550 East 14th Street and 40 parking spaces at 262 Davis Street. Staff recommends award of contract to Galedrige Construction, Inc. in the amount $155,638.00 for the subj ect prof ect. BACKGROUND City Council has allocated funding for the Estudillo/Callan Parking Garage project. Construction on the new parking structure is expected to start next spring. With the demolition of the old garage and subsequent construction of the new one, there is a need for approximately 200 parking spaces to accommodate monthly permit parking users for employees of the businesses adjacent to the existing garage. The City has ~repared plans to construct temporary parking lots at the former Albertson's site (1550 East 14t Street) and the former Chamber of Commerce site (262 Davis Street). The lot at 262 Davis Street will be "Permit Only" and will only serve employees of the businesses located near the garage. This 15,550 square foot lot is anticipated to have 40 spaces. The lot at 1550 East 14th Street will be mainly "Permit Only" for additional employees, but there will also be a number of public parking spaces for patrons of downtown businesses. This lot is 75,359 square feet and will have approximately 235 spaces.
