Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR THE SAN LEANDRO SENIOR CENTER <br />PHASE 2 IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 06-210-18-116. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the work, filing of the Notice of Completion, and authorizing <br />the City Manager to release the maintenance bonds for the subject project upon successful <br />completion of the one-year maintenance period. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Due to funding, hospital access, and contractual considerations, the Senior Center project was <br />constructed in two phases. Phase 1 improvements included the following: 1) building <br />demolition 2) construction of a 170-space parking facility; 3) construction of an entrance <br />roadway; 4) installation of a traffic signal at East 14~' Street; and 5) installation of a monument <br />sign. Phase 1 was completed and accepted by the City Council on February 17, 2009. Phase 2 <br />improvements included: 1) construction of the 21,000 square foot building; and 2) construction <br />of an adjacent 57-space parking area. Phase 2 is the subject of this action. <br />The shared parking areas are located on San Leandro Hospital property (operated by Eden <br />Township Healthcare District) and were built under the terms of a "Purchase and Sale <br />Agreement" with the District. The building occupies a parcel owned by the City. <br />
