Hollister <br /> City Manager <br /> FROM: Uchenna Udemezue, Director <br /> Engineering and Transportation partment <br /> BY: Kenneth Joseph, City Engineer <br /> Engineering and Transportation Department <br /> SUBJECT PROJECT /PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR THE PARK PATHWAYS (WW) PROJECT, <br /> PROJECT NO. 10- 150 -38 -306. <br /> SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends acceptance of the work, filing of the Notice of Completion, and upon <br /> completion to the satisfaction of the City Engineer of the one -year maintenance period, hereby <br /> authorizes the City Manager to release the Maintenance Bond for the subject project. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> On March 2, 2009, the City received a grant from the East Bay Regional Parks District (EBRPD) <br /> pursuant to Measure WW. After an extensive public input process, a number of park- related <br /> projects were selected, including the Park Pathways project. This project includes: 1) removing <br /> and replacing damaged asphalt concrete pathways; 2) upgrading ramps to meet Americans with <br /> Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements; and 3) irrigation sleeves to coordinate efforts with future <br /> projects. Pathways at the following parks are included in this project: Marina Park; Washington <br /> Manor Park; Halcyon Park; Stenzel Park; Warden Park and Thrasher Park. <br /> Analysis <br /> On July 19, 2010, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the subject project to <br /> Guerra Construction Group. Construction is now complete and is in compliance with the <br /> contract documents. <br /> Due to weather, work related to the crack and slurry seal will be completed on a separate contract <br /> in Spring 2011 when weather conditions improve. <br />
