Vehicle Identification <br />The Contractor's name, phone number, and vehicle identification number must be visibly displayed on its <br />vehicles in letters and figures no less than three inches high. <br />Cleaning and Maintenance <br />(a) General. Contractor shall maintain all of its properties, facilities, and equipment used in <br />providing service under this Agreement in a safe, neat, clean and operable condition at all times, and well <br />and uniformly painted, to the satisfaction of the City Representative. Vehicles shall be maintained in such a <br />manner that no leakage of fluids from the collected materials occurs. <br />(b) Cleaning. Vehicles used in the collection shall be thoroughly washed at a minimum of once <br />per day, and thoroughly steam cleaned on a regular basis so as to present a clean appearance and <br />minimize odors. Contractor may use the City's existing wash facilities without charge at times approved by <br />the City Representative until February 1, 2001. Thereafter, Contractor shall use a wash station constructed <br />at its Aladdin Street Facility. All vehicles shall be painted on a regular schedule to maintain a clean, <br />professional, new-like appearance, although the City Representative may require the painting of any <br />vehicle which does not present a satisfactory appearance at any time. As of January 1, 2001, the vehicles <br />shall be painted in a uniform manner; although refuse, recycling, and green waste vehicles may have <br />different painting schemes. All graffiti shall be removed immediately. City may inspect vehicles at any time <br />to determine compliance with sanitation requirements. Contractor shall make vehicles available to the <br />County Health Department for inspection at any frequency it requests. <br />(c) Maintenance. Contractor shall (i) inspect each vehicle daily to ensure that all equipment is <br />operating properly. Vehicles which are not operating properly shall be taken out of service until they are <br />repaired and do operate properly; and (ii) perform all scheduled maintenance functions in accordance with <br />the manufacturer's specifications and schedule. Contractor shall keep accurate records of all vehicle <br />maintenance, recorded according to date and mileage and shall make such records available to the City <br />upon request. <br />(d) Repairs. Contractor shall repair, or arrange for the repair of, all of its vehicles and equipment, <br />including dents, leaks, and other body damage, for which repairs are needed because of accident, <br />breakdown ar any other cause so as to maintain all equipment in a neat, safe and operable conditions. If <br />an item of repair is covered by a warranty, Contractor shall obtain warranty performance. Contractor shall <br />maintain accurate records of repair, which shall include date/mileage, nature of repair and the signature of <br />a maintenance supervisor that the repair has been properly performed. <br />(e) Inventory. Contractor shall furnish sufficient equipment to provide all service required under <br />this Agreement, including backup collection vehicles. Contractor shall furnish the City a written inventory of <br />all vehicles, including collection vehicles, used in providing service, and shall update the inventory <br />annually. The inventory shall list all vehicles by manufacturer, ID number, date of acquisition, type, <br />capacity and decibel rating. <br />DRAFT 1/24/Op Page 3 of 11 <br />
