Oil or Other Vehicle Fluid Spills <br />Contractor is responsible for cleaning up all oil or vehicle fluid spills immediately and must notify the City <br />within 24 hours of each such spill. All vehicles must carry an acceptable absorbent material to use in the <br />event of spills. Repair for damages caused by ail or other vehicle spills shall be at the Contractor's <br />expense. The Contractor will follow the spill procedures below: <br />Driver will determine cause and source of spill. <br />Each driver or shop employee is responsible for having enough absorbent in their vehicle <br />to contain or prevent any hydraulic fluid or oil from entering a storm drain or sewer and to <br />clean up small spills as they occur. <br />Driver will contain or stop the leak and clean it up without endangering self. <br />4. Driver will immediately notify dispatch or supervisor. <br />Driver will not leave the spill until either a supervisor or spill response personnel arrive at <br />the scene. <br />Driver will keep all people, cars, or other vehicles from walking or driving through the spill. <br />Driver or spill response personnel will take whatever action possible to prevent the spill <br />from entering any storm drain, grates, or other entry points. <br />9. Personnel <br />General <br />Contractor shall furnish such qualified drivers, mechanical, supervisory, clerical and other personnel as <br />may be necessary to provide the franchise services required by this Agreement in a safe and efficient <br />manner. <br />All Contractor employees must be able to read, write and speak English with sufficient proficiency to enable <br />them to successfully meet and adhere to all of the terms of this Agreement. <br />Driver Qualifications <br />All drivers shall be trained and qualified in the operation of collection vehicles and must have in effect a <br />valid license, of the appropriate class with appropriate endorsements, issued by the California Department <br />of Motor Vehicles. All collection vehicle drivers shall also complete the Contractor's in-house training <br />program which includes education on the use of all vehicles in the collection fleet, collection programs, and <br />route information as well as customer service practices and safety information. <br />DRAFT ~/24ioo Page 7 of 11 <br />
