<br />DISCUSSION
<br />The proposed draft ordinances relating to Fences, Walls and Hedges in the RS-VP District;
<br />Limited On-Line Used Vehicle Sales and clean-up items associated with the Transit-Oriented
<br />Development (TOD) Strategy may be summarized as follows:
<br />Fences, Walls & HedPes in the RS-VPDistrict
<br />• Section 4-1682 of the Zoning Code relating to Fences, Walls and Hedges is proposed for
<br />amendment to provide additional restrictions on fence heights and to preserve views in the
<br />RS-VP District. As such, the primary changes proposed for this section of the Zoning Code
<br />are to provide additional guidelines for fence and wall materials, as well as limitations on
<br />fence heights. Fence heights in the RS-VP District are recommended to be limited to 3 feet
<br />above finished grade, with the portion of the fence from three (3) to seven (7) feet limited to
<br />glass to allow for continued enjoyment of the view.
<br />• Consideration of additional types of transparent fencing materials, including welded wire,
<br />wire mesh and decorative iron were also discussed by both the Planning Commission and
<br />Board of Zoning Adjustments. Other transparent fence materials will be reviewed and
