Zoning Code Amendments 5 January 7, 2008 <br />Fences, Walls & Hedges, On-Line Auto Sales and TOD Follow-up Items <br />that no more than two (2) parking spaces are devoted for such use and where the purpose <br />is to satisfy the requirements of the California Department of Motor Vehicles to provide <br />an office location where customers can complete required paperwork and take possession <br />of a vehicle purchased primarily via Internet activities or fleet sales. Any display of <br />vehicles "for sale" will be prohibited. The Planning Commission /Board of Zoning <br />Adjustments joint worksession review has indicated support for these recommendations. <br />The Planning Commission voted to support these recommendations at their December 13, <br />2007 hearing. <br />TOD Strate~y Clean-Un Items <br />• The Downtown San Leandro Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategy consisted of <br />a comprehensive land use policy change affecting a 1/z mile radius around the intersection <br />of Davis and East 14th Streets. An effort is currently underway to focus on follow-up <br />items that need to be addressed in the City's Zoning Code, including replacement of <br />"CD" zoning designations with "DA-1 to DA-6" in miscellaneous Articles of the Zoning <br />Code, as a result of adoption of the TOD Strategy. These changes are focused on the <br />following: Amending Article 2, Section 1-204 adding new DA-1 to DA-6 Base Districts; <br />Amending Article 6, Sections 2-636, 2-638, 2-640, 2-642, 2-644 and 2-646 to enumerate <br />a density standard for mixed-use residential zoning; Amending Article 6, Sections 2-636, <br />2-638, 2-640 and 2-642 to clarify existing single-family and two-family residential uses in <br />the DA Districts; Amending Article 17, Section 4-1704 adding DA-1 to DA-6 Base <br />Districts to off-street parking requirements; Amending Article 17, Section 4-1714 related <br />to Bicycle Parking; and Amending Article 18, Section 4-1806 related to regulations for <br />On-Premise Signs. Planning Commission and joint Planning Commission /Board of <br />Zoning Adjustments worksession review has indicated support for these <br />recommendations.
