3. Proiect Design
Siemens shall provide design drawings and specifications for all components of the
Work in a format mutually acceptable to the City and Siemens in both hard copy and
AutoCAD formats signed and stamped by the licensed professional engineer
responsible for the design. The drawings and specifications are subject to the review
and approval of the City Engineer prior to the start of construction.
Siemens shall provide the design and scope of work for a grease receiving station and
cogeneration system, while adhering to and complying with all applicable federal,
state, and local codes and regulations. Major components within the process design
will consist of the following:
1) Grease Receiving Station. The design shall include the following:
a. Storage -consisting of a 15,000 gallon grease storage capacity as a base
design.
b. Pumping facilities- consisting of a grease truck offloading pump, as well
as grease delivery pumping to the digestion process.
c. Control feature -consisting of an automated interface panel and pump
control system.
2) Cogeneration System. The design shall include the following:
a. Fuel conditioning System -consisting of facilities necessary to reduce
moisture and certain contaminants to engine fuel specifications, and
compression capabilities adequate to deliver the fuel requirements to
operate the reciprocating engines at full capacity.
b. Cogeneration System -consisting of three (3) reciprocating generators at
gross capacity of 110 kW each (totaling 330 kW in gross output capacity)
while firing anaerobic digester gas as the fuelgas, heat recovery system so
as to preheat boiler water via engine exhaust, and remote monitoring. The
cogeneration system will be designed to adhere to the Performance
Guarantee.
c. Utility Interconnection -consisting of disconnects, protective relays,
metering.
Siemens shall provide construction-grade drawings and specifications so as to procure
the necessary Equipment and implement and commission the installed systems, as
described in this Exhibit, Project Construction.
4. Proiect Construction
Siemens shall provide all labor, equipment and materials to construct a complete and
operational system, as specified within this Exhibit, Project Design, that meets the terms of
this Agreement and is approved by all regulatory agencies. All materials will be new and of
good quality in conformance with the design drawings and specifications. No substitutions or
replacement of materials named in the approved drawings, specifications, or as listed below
WPCP Cogeneration 090808 -Page 35 of 60
