Task 2.3 -Existing Geometrics
Contractor shall establish the existing interchange/roadway geometry based on asbuilts.
Existing geometrics shall be inputted into the aerial base to supplement the drawing for
clarity and definition.
Task 2.4 -Field Surveying
Contractor shall obtain Caltrans and City monument and design control. Contractor shall
perform a topographic survey as required to verify existing features or conform grades
for the Project. It is assumed that topographic surveys will not require traffic control.
Contractor shall use Contractor's existing Caltrans Encroachment Permit to perform
topographic survey required. If the Caltrans Encroachment Permit expires prior to
performing the survey work, Contractor shall apply for an Encroachment Permit Rider.
Task 2 Deliverables
• Existing Roadway Geometrics and Right of Way Drawings
• Caltrans Encroachment Permit (If Necessary)
Task 3: Development of PSR Alternatives
Contractor shall review the traffic operations analysis and develop the viable geometric
alternatives. Contractor shall evaluate alternatives for right of way impacts and
construction staging requirements.
Task 31-Traffic Operations Analysis Review
Contractor shall review the traffic forecasting, projections and operations analysis.
Contractor shall evaluate the proposed alternatives for implementation into the PSR.
Task 3.2 -Geometric Alternative Design Development
Contractor shall develop three (3) geometric alternatives for the Westgate Extension
connection to Davis Street in accordance with the City Traffic Operations Analysis. At
least one geometric alternative will include the addition of a left turn lane on Davis Street
Overcrossing and reconstruction of the Overcrossing.
Task 3.3 -Right of Way Requirements
Contractor shall review the three (3) geometric alternatives for the Westgate Extension
connection to Davis Street and the existing right of way to determine the proposed right
of way requirements for each alternative. The Contractor shall delineate the proposed
right of way required for each alternative.
Contractual Services Agreement/BKF Engineers Page 5 of 28
Revised 5-02
