ALAMEDA COUNTY WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY BOARD <br />RESOLUTION #2001-13B <br />MOVED: Landis <br />SECONDED: Appezzattoo <br />AT THE MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 26, 2001 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUNDING FOR <br />RESIDENTIAL FOODWASTE SUBSIDY <br />WHEREAS, Alameda County jurisdictions are looking for new ways to divert additional <br />materials from the waste stream to meet state and local diversion goals, and <br />WHEREAS, residential foodwaste is a significant portion of the Alameda County waste stream, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, residential foodwaste can be diverted and composted through the development of <br />new collection programs, and <br />WHEREAS, new residential collection programs are unique to each jurisdiction and hauler, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Waste Management Authority adopts the <br />Residential Foodwaste Subsidy Guidelines and approves funding in the amount of $410,000 for a <br />$10/household subsidy for residential foodwaste diversion, and authorizes the Executive Director <br />to disburse the subsidy funds according to the Residential Foodwaste Subsidy Guidelines. <br />ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br />AYES: Appezzato, Dennis, Dietrich, Greene, Nilson, Johnson, Landis, Lockhart, <br />Morrison, Nadel, Thomsen, Waespi, White, Young <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Bukowski, Carson, Spring <br />ABSTAINED: Noae <br />f~,.. <br />i ~~ /' <br />C:.._~'" <br />~' <br />Karen Smith <br />Executive Director <br />G:\DATAISUPPORIIRESOLUTMWMA ResolutionslResidentlal FW subsidy resolution9-01.doc <br />
