Davis Street Family Resource Center -Community Counseling - $10,000 <br />Meets Critical Need: Mental Health <br />Reasons for Funding: <br />• Clients will have access to mental health services in addition to the other social services offered <br />at the resource center <br />• San Leandro based agency <br />• Number of San Leandro residents served is high (255) <br />DCARA - 0 <br />Meets Critical Need: No <br />Reasons for Not Funding: <br />• Agency requested funding for independent living services (self-sufficiency and advocacy) for <br />people who are deaf or hearing impaired. Although this is a very important service, it does not <br />meet a critical basic need. <br />ECHO Rental Assistance Program - $5,000 <br />Meets Critical Need: Housing/Homelessness <br />Reasons for Funding: <br />• Meets CDBG Consolidated & Action Plan priorities addressing homelessness and housing <br />• Reduces homelessness and increases accessibility to long-term housing for tenants through <br />short-term assistance for delinquent rent ormove-in costs. <br />• A small number of San Leandro residents are served (7), however, the service prevents <br />homelessness and the funds are leveraged against ECHO funds. <br />ECHO Tenant Landlord Service - $15,000 <br />Meets Critical Need: Housing/Homelessness <br />Reasons for Funding: <br />• Meets CDBG Consolidated & Action Plan priorities addressing homelessness and housing <br />• Coordinates with mandated fair housing services <br />• 90% of the walk-ins and telephone inquiries regarding fair housing services are referred by the <br />City to ECHO <br />Eden Housing, Inc. - $0 <br />Meets Critical Need: No <br />Reasons for Not Funding: <br />• Agency requested funding for residential services for Estabrook Senior Housing, Fuller Lodge and <br />Fuller Gardens, including group programming such as exercise classes, nutrition, budget <br />management and transportation training. Although this is an important service, it does not <br />meet a critical basic need. <br />Emer~ency Shelter Program (ESP1- $0 <br />Meets Critical Need: Housing/Homelessness <br />Reasons for Not Funding: <br />Duplication of service with San Leandro based agency. <br />Number of San Leandro residents served is low (20) <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
