San Leandro Senior Center -Phase 2 <br />Acceptance of Work 4 July 19, 2010 <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />• This project is consistent with zoning for the area as well as the East 14th Street South Area <br />Development Strategy <br />Environmental Review <br />The project is categorically exempt. <br />Code Compliance Review <br />• A City of San Leandro Building Permit was obtained for this work <br />• A permit was obtained from the Alameda County Flood Control for connection to its storm <br />drain <br />Board/Commission Findings <br />The Senior Commission provided input on the conceptual design and will continue to <br />participate as the project progresses <br />A general update on this project was given to the Redevelopment Agency Joint Project Area <br />(JPA) RAC on November 15, 2006 <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />• Two community meetings were held as part of the needs assessment and conceptual design <br />phase; input was solicited on site selection and building/program features <br />• No further public meetings are anticipated <br />Fiscal Impact <br />• The total Phase 2 project cost was $13M, including soft costs <br />• A summary of the construction contract with is listed below: <br />Alten Construction Original Contract $10,720,200 <br />720 12th Street Change Orders $707,858 <br />Richmond, CA 94801 Total Contract Amount $11,428,058 <br />The original estimated annual maintenance and operating costs for the San Leandro Senior <br />Community Center were in excess of $500,000; a more limited operation of the facility is <br />now estimated at about $360,000 annually <br />
