Bid Deadline <br />Bids shall be submitted no later than the Proposals Due Date detailed in the RFP Calendar of Events (see <br />Section 1.9). Please note that the City's internal mail delivery system can add 1-2 business days onto the <br />timeline for receipt of items sent by U.S. Mail. It is the Bidder's responsibility to ensure that proposals <br />are received prior to the deadline noted in Section 1.9. Bidders shall respond to the written RFP and any <br />exhibits, attachments, or amendments. A Bidder's failure to submit a bid by the deadline as required <br />shall cause that bid to be disqualified. Bidders assume the risk of the method of dispatch chosen. The <br />City assumes no responsibility for delays caused by any delivery service. Postmarking by the due date <br />shall not substitute for actual bid receipt by the City. Late bids shall not be accepted nor shall additional <br />time be granted to any Bidder. Bids may not be delivered orally, by facsimile transmission, or by other <br />telecommunication or electronic means. <br />1.12. Nondiscrimination <br />No person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, be discriminated against in the <br />admission or access to, or be discriminated against in treatment or employment in the City's contracted <br />programs or activities on the grounds of disability, age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any <br />other classification protected by federal or California State Constitutional or statutory law; nor shall they <br />be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination in <br />the performance of contracts with the City or in the employment practices of the City's Bidders. <br />Accordingly, all Bidders entering into contracts with the City shall, upon request, be required to show <br />proof of such nondiscrimination and to post in conspicuous places, available to all employees and <br />applicants, notices of nondiscrimination. <br />1.13.
