<br /> <br /> <br />2.1.2 Goals <br />The following goals are the foundation for the objectives detailed below and are <br />considered the basis for hazard mitigation in the City of San Leandro. <br /> Protection of life, property and environment before, during and after the <br />occurrence of emergencies and disasters <br /> Continue to identify vulnerabilities of the city <br /> Maintain and enhance the ability to provide emergency response services <br /> <br />2.1.3 Objectives <br />The following objectives are meant to serve as a “measuring stick” upon which <br />individual hazard mitigation projects can be evaluated. <br />Project Criteria Objectives may include, but are not limited to the following: <br /> Assuring the Hazard Mitigation Plan is a functional document that identifies <br />short- and long-term strategies and describes each measure including: <br />o Identification of person, agency or organization responsible for <br />implementation <br />o Projecting a time frame for implementation. <br />o Explanation of how the project will be financed including the <br />conditions for financing and implementation as information is <br />available <br />o Identifying alternative measures, should financing not be available <br /> Be consistent with, support and help implement the goals and objectives of <br />hazard mitigation plans already in place for the geographic area in question <br /> Be based on the City of San Leandro’s Hazard Vulnerability Analysis <br /> Have significant potential to reduce damages to public and/or private <br />property or reduce the cost of local, state and federal recovery from future <br />disasters <br /> Be the most practical, cost-effective and environmentally sound alternative <br />after consideration of the options
