Transportation Consultants Ms. Dolores Ortiz January 14, 2000 Page 2 of 6 EXISTING CONDITIONS Fehr & Peers Associates conducted morning and evening peak period (7:00-9:00 AM and 4:00-6:00 PM) intersection turning movement counts during the week of July 26, 1999. The typical weekday morning peak hour occurs between 7:15 and 8:15 AM, and the evening peak hour occurs between 4:30 and 5:30 PM. Existing intersection volumes are presented in Figure 4. SITE TRAFFIC CHARACTERISTICS The trip generation for the proposed project was completed by using rates published in Institute of Transportation Engineers' (ITE) Trip Generation, 6t1i Edition. Before selecting ITE rates, trip generation studies prepared by Fehr & Peers Associates for auto dealerships in Roseville and Stockton were reviewed, but ITE rates were determined to be higher. Consistent with Fehr & Peers Associates' approach to preparing traffic impact analysis, this represents a conservative assumption. Table 1 presents trip generation for estimates based on number of employees and gross floor area. Since the estimates based on the number of employees are higher, they are used for the remainder of this study. The proposed project will produce about 79 trips during the AM peak hour, and 113 trips during the PM peak hour.
