field information. ROW data will be incorporated in the project base maps. Areas of potential
encroachment will be identified and brought to the attention of the City.

Topographic Survey: The survey limits will include all improvements within the paved roadway
including up to 10 feet on the downhill (fill) side of the roadway and 5 feet on the uphill (cut) side of
the roadway. The survey will include all structures, dikes, curbs, gutters, trees (4” or greater),
striping, edge of pavement, lighting, drainage, surface utilities, fencing, grade breaks, slide limits (if
apparent), and above ground utilities.

Drafting: CONSULTANT will prepare base mapping in AutoCAD for the preparation of construction plans
on 24”x36” plan sheets. Mapping will include, 1-foot contours, spot elevations (1/10 foot) and shall be 20
scale, unless otherwise requested. Base maps will incorporate information obtained during the site review
and field survey.

Utility Research and Coordination: Records of the utility companies will be requested based on the
utilities found during the field surveys. The utility base map information will be plotted in the base
drawings. We will coordinate with the various agencies within the project area so that this work may
be brought to the City’s attention and coordinated if possible.

Task 2 Deliverables:

• Topographic Survey in AutoCad

Task 3 Asbestos Evaluation

Asbestos Evaluation: Consultant will complete a sampling and testing program to evaluate the
presence of asbestos that may be contained within the serpentenite bedrock that underlies the site.
The laboratory testing will provide insight on the presence of bedrock, and will allow Consultant to
develop detailed specifications on monitoring air quality should this naturally asbestos be
encountered.

Filed Sampling and Testing: Consultant will evaluate maps and data for the site and locate spots for
sample extraction. Up to four samples will be obtained by means of a rock hammer from bedrock
outcrops found on the upslope side of the roadway. Samples will be bagged and taken to a certified
asbestos testing laboratory for evaluation.

Asbestos Evaluation Memorandum: When the sampling and testing program is complete,
CONSULTANT will produce an asbestos evaluation memorandum to present laboratory data
and summarize our findings and recommendations. The memorandum will be submitted to the
City for review and discussion.

Task 3 Deliverable
• Asbestos Evaluation Memorandum

1090
