• Stabilization Typical Sections

Specifications will be developed using Word, using Caltrans format. At the 30% level, the specifications will
include major headings and measurement and payment clauses.

A quantity take-off will be completed and an engineer’s estimate will be developed.
Construction costs will be determined using average Caltrans bid items unit costs.

30% Deliverables
• 30% Plans
• 30% Specifications
• 30% Engineer’s Estimate

Calculations: Engineering calculations will be completed prior to the 70% PS&E to support refinement
of the design. After the 100% PS&E submittal, final design calculations will be prepared and
submitted as a separately bound deliverable. All calculations will be based on the design
recommendations and parameters presented in the geotechnical design reports.

70% PS&E: During development of the plans, Consultant will coordinate with the City’s drafters to
confirm that the correct AutoCAD standards are being applied. Concurrence with the City will be
obtained prior to submission of the 70% plans. 70% plans will be plotted on full size (24 x 36 inch)
and half size (12 x 18 inch) in PDF format.

It is anticipated that the 70% plan set will include the following sheets:

• Title Sheet
• Typical Sections
• Layouts and Pavement Elevations
• Demolition and Tree Removal
• Profiles/Superelevations
• Drainage Plans and Utilities
• Drainage Profiles
• Water Pollution/Erosion Control Plan
• Stage Construction and Traffic Handling Plan
• Pavement Delineation Plans
• Stabilization Plan and Elevation
• Stabilization Typical Sections

Specifications will be further developed and provided to the City for review in both Word and PDF
formats.

The engineer’s estimate will be further refined and be made available to the City for review in PDF
and Excel format.
1092
