DEPARTMENT: CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />services. In addition, the Division delivers innovation-related programs, such as open <br />data, data analytics, mobile apps, and digital services. <br /> <br />The Innovation and Information Technology Division is funded through an Internal Service <br />Fund. Additionally, some functions within the Human Resources Division are partially <br />funded by the Fund. All other divisions are funded by the General Fund. A full description <br />is provided within the Internal Service Funds section of the biennial budget document. <br /> <br />2017-19 ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br /> <br /> Successfully formed the Cost and Revenue Efficiency (CARE) team, and led <br />development of a comprehensive report identifying long term cost reduction and <br />revenue enhancement strategies <br /> Launched the community polling and public information and outreach efforts <br />associated with a potential revenue measure in 2020 <br /> Successfully launched a third and final phase of the airport noise insulation program, <br />which is designed to facilitate the installation of noise-mitigation measures in <br />residences in the Davis West neighborhood <br /> Launched a pilot-year Arts & Culture grants program and issued grants to 14 local <br />organizations and residents <br /> Executed several City-wide media and community events, including: Summer of <br />Paving, Wi-Fiber expansion into City parks, and two District Town Hall meetings <br /> Finalized a small cell licensing agreement <br /> Finalized the Fiber Optics Master Plan <br /> Successfully developed a disaster recovery system for the Police Department <br /> Completed 143 recruitments and reviewed over 6,000 employment applications, <br />which included the appointments of the Assistant City Manager, City Clerk, Deputy <br />Community Development Director and 12 Police Officers. <br /> Changed to a new Third Party Administrator for Workers’ Compensation resulting in a <br />reduction in administration costs and improved customer service to injured <br />employees. <br /> Successfully executed annual Employee BBQ, Employee recognition programs, <br />Benefits fair, and Take your Sons & Daughters to Work event <br /> <br /> <br />2019-21 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES <br /> <br /> Ensure the successful implementation of the FY 2019-21 City budget (Supports <br />Council Goal A) <br /> Explore a possible 2020 revenue measure, including execution of related public <br />outreach efforts (Supports Council Goal A) <br /> Provide strategic direction to ensure successful implementation of capital <br />improvement efforts (Supports Council Goal A, D) <br />152 <br />174
