b) Currently, watering with potable water is restricted to two (2) non-consecutive <br />applications per week. All watering shall occur between the hours of 10 PM and 6 AM <br />only. Contractor should monitor the clocks and manually make adjustments as needed to <br />comply. <br />c) If the watering requirements change the contractor will be required to adhere to these <br />changes and make necessary/timely adjustments to the irrigation clocks. <br /> <br />503 Timing of Repairs and Adjustments <br /> <br />(a) All repairs, adjustments, cleaning or replacements of any part of the system that cannot <br />be completed within the same day of detection, shall be immediately reported to the City, <br />and provisions made by Contractor to complete said repair prior to the close of the next <br />regular business day. Additional time may be granted at the sole discretion of the City <br />Representative. <br /> <br />(b) Any part of the system not functioning normally shall immediately be cleaned, adjusted, <br />repaired or replaced as needed to restore the system to normal operation. <br /> <br />504 Head adjustments for adequate coverage <br /> <br />a) It is the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure that the system is operating correctly and <br />that there is adequate coverage. <br /> <br />b) Adjustments/repairs/replacements must be made to nozzles/pop ups/spray heads that are <br />spraying over landscaped areas and applying water onto roadways and must be adjusted <br />to contain the water onto the median and not onto the roadway. <br /> <br />c) Trim around sprinkler heads in turf and planted areas to ensure proper coverage. <br /> <br />505 Clock adjustments – seasonally; water budgets; health of plants <br /> <br />(a) Automatic controllers shall be programmed for watering prior to 6:00 A.M. or after 10:00 <br />P.M. Automatic controllers' programs shall be adjusted to compensate for changes in the <br />weather and site conditions. Wasting of water or use of City -furnished water for means <br />other than those directly related to maintenance of this project shall be prohibited. <br /> <br />(b) Contractor may be required to adjust the clocks as requested by the City. The Contractor <br />is responsible for manually changing all irrigation clock watering times, both seasonally <br />and at the start/end of daylight saving time in order to adhere to the water window of <br />10:00pm to 6:00am. <br /> <br />(c) Any failure on the part of the Contractor to reduce a water budget when requested to do <br />so by the City will result in withholding of payment to cover excessive water bills. <br /> <br />(d) Modifications may be made to the existing automatic irrigation system without express <br />approval of the City assuming such modifications are made to meet the irrigation standards <br />outlined herein.
