<br /> <br />Non-Professional Services Agreement between <br />City of San Leandro and Silman Industries—Exhibit A Page 29 of 30 <br />12) Storage and disposal of all hazardous materials such as paints, thinners, solvents, and fuel; <br />and all hazardous wastes such as waste oil must meet all federal, state, and local standards <br />and requirements. <br />13) For guidance on selecting and implementing effective control measures the Contractor is <br />directed to California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) at:http://www.casqa.org <br /> <br />Concrete Operations <br /> <br />1) Store all materials in waterproof containers or under cover away from drain inlets or drainage <br />areas. <br />2) Avoid mixing excess amounts of Portland cement materials. <br />3) Do not wash out concrete trucks into storm drains, open ditches, streets, streams, etc. <br />Whenever possible, perform washout of concrete trucks offsite where discharge is controlled <br />and not permitted to discharge to the storm drain system. <br />4) Locate washout area at least 50 feet from storm drains, open ditches, or other water bodies, <br />preferably in a dirt area. <br />5) Prevent runoff from this area by constructing a temporary pit or bermed area large enough for <br />the liquid and solid waste. <br />6) Wash out concrete wastes into the temporary pit where the concrete can set, be broken up, <br />and then be disposed of properly. If the volume of water is greater than what will allow <br />concrete to set, allow the wash water to infiltrate and/or evaporate. Otherwise, discharge <br />wastewater with approval from the Engineer discharge filtered water into the Sanitary sewer. <br />Remove or vacuum the remaining silt and debris from the ponding or bermed area and <br />dispose of it properly. <br />7) Collect and return sweepings from exposed aggregate concrete to a stockpile or dispose of <br />the waste in a trash container. <br />SPILL <br />1) Prevention and Control. <br />2) The Contractor shall take any and all precautions to prevent accidental spills during the work <br />under this contract. <br />3) Keep a stockpile of spill control materials, such as rags or absorbents, readily accessible <br />onsite <br />4) In the event of a spill, the Contractor shall: <br />5) Report any hazardous materials spills immediately to the Alameda County Fire Department, <br />the Alameda County Hazardous Materials Division, and other state and local agencies as <br />required by state and local regulations. <br />6) Immediately contain and prevent leaks and spills from entering the storm drain system, and <br />properly clean up and dispose of the waste and clean up materials. <br />7) Not wash any spilled material into the streets, gutters, storm drains, or creeks <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 23227C11-F678-4CF3-95AF-AD4B0DEB1E28
