Barry Miller,The Planning Center I DC&E,and the CCP <br /> will develop a communication strategy for the General Plan Update which <br /> addresses: <br /> • Involvement and role of the Planning Commission, City Council, and other <br /> City commissions. <br /> • Involvement of City Department heads and other City staff. <br /> • Methods of input for San Leandro residents and businesses, including groups <br /> representing youth, non-English speaking residents, and persons with special <br /> needs. <br /> • A project web-page to be hosted on a dedicated URL,hyperlinked to the City's <br /> website. <br /> • Outreach to established organizations and neighborhood groups in the City. <br /> • Any project-specific publications or displays needed for special events in San <br /> Leandro (such as the Cherry Festival) that may occur over the course of the <br /> project. <br /> • Social media,such as Facebook,Twitter,and texting, to spark two-way dialog <br /> with residents and reach the younger residents of San Leandro. <br /> Surlene Grant of CCP will develop and implement a cost-effective media strategy <br /> to generate publicity for the General Plan Update, including writing and <br /> distributing press releases to local media and on-line bloggers to sum up activities <br /> and to announce meetings,as well as creating editorials. <br /> 2.2 Develop General Plan Website and Online Engagement Tools <br /> Barry Miller and The Planning Center I DC&E will develop a variety of web-based <br /> media for use in the General Plan Update. The specific tools to be developed will <br /> be determined through the Communications Strategy(Task 2.1). At minimum,this <br /> will include the development and maintenance of a project website; the <br /> development of content for that website; the management of any community <br /> feedback generated via the website; and the development of any discussion <br /> questions or on-line surveys to be conducted through the project website. <br /> THE PLANNING CENTER l DC&E 6 <br /> MARCH 3.2014 <br />
